One benefit of the MCS dampers is you can upgrade to a higher level of adjustability whenever you send them off to get rebuilt. So you can turn your 1way non-remotes into 3way remote reservoir, etc. It's a nice way to work your way up to more complicated suspension set ups as you get comfortable with using a high-quality damper. Not sure if that's an option with other dampers.

I’m the ‘mechanic’ for the car I share with my 21 yo son.
If track performance matters…
He likes broken-in, 2 year/30+ hours track time Ohlins R&T with 400-700 springs. He also likes brand new MCS 1WNR with 650/750 after adjusting the front bar to a softer setting. We just did this.
He runs low 2:09’s at VIR with either one. The new MCS dampers aren’t faster, but I think they improve brake pad and tire longevity. Don’t ask me why…I won’t be able to explain it.

The guy that did my suspension has revalve included in his rebuild service (if it's wanted), in essence it's only changing the shim stacks so it's nothing fancy...Originally posted by fattycharged View Post

I agree. I'm running 18x9.5 Apex ARC-8 +35 square with Conti ECF 275-35. Apex notes that coilovers with "less clearance" (Ohlins being one of them; MCS and JRZ are not) may require a 5mm spacer up front to clear. I have that, but I was hearing rubbing on some corners after a recent track weekend. When I removed my track wheels afterwards, I noticed obvious wear on the FL inside and rubber on the spring, so I was clearly getting some rubbing there. I've read the ECFs run a bit wider than most and I was also underinflated for a bit, so neither of those helped I'm sure. I have a 12 mm spacer available and enough camber where I should be fine, but I also ordered the 3DM "spacer" setup that raises the whole thing and should eliminate the need for a spacer at all.Originally posted by CrisSilberGrau View Post

I got my Ohlins Dedicated Track from Tirerack. I love them. But you are on point, jarring on the street but at Sebring with the bumps it SOAKS it all up well. I have it set a few clicks below middle

I probably will be lol. Went up to 450lb/784lb from 343/685 and it's a little bouncy. And because the rebound is tied to compression, you can't slow rebound down enough (as it will just invoke more compression). So since I only have 1k miles on them, I'd send them to Barry to just re-valve for 2kg heavier springs.Originally posted by fattycharged View Post
