    Help gauging the market

I need to figure out the value of my M3. Considering selling it.

    2003 Imola/Black manual w/104,xxx miles.

Has quite a bit of preventive maintenance within the last 8k miles or so:

    -New OEM Clutch Kit

    -New Slave Cylinder

    -New Hydraulic Line

    -New Master Cylinder

    -New Front LCAs and Bushings

    -New Tie Rods

-New Front Sway Bar End Links

    -New Valve Cover Gasket

    -Reman Alternator

    -New Serpentine Belt

    -New Final Stage Resistor

    -New Oil Level Sensor

    -New E-Brake Handle

-Rod Bearings under warranty at 12k miles.

    No noise from VANOS.

    Aftermarket upgrades:

    -Delrin Clutch Pedal Bushings

    -Headers (likely off brand)

    -Active Autowerks Section 1&2

    Issues:

-Rear quarter panel has a scrape that will need professional repair.

-Needs either an o2 sensor or a coil. It gets a misfire code but does not appear to actually misfire.

-Needs bushings on the differential mounts. (I have not looked at the subframe areas in a while, but I can check/take photos).

-Stereo was previously an aftermarket setup. Replaced with a stock head unit but I suspect the speakers are not connected (no music).

-Sunroof interior panel clip needs to be replaced.

Will be addressing the misfire code, changing fluids, and having the audio repaired in the next month or two.

I think the above price is fair given the issues you noted. If these get resolved though and especially if its a 2003.5 I don't see why this wouldn't be a mid 20k car though. Upper 20s if you can find an Imola diehard

Roughly 15-25k. The most important factor is how clean your car is with respect to paint and interior plus no mechanical issues and it sounds as if your car is far from immaculate, plus you posted zero pics which is always telling, meaning you are definitely on the low end. Below are some clean examples that sold in 2021 and 2022 on BAT.

$15K, since the subraframe and VANOS haven't been done. This also assumes the paint and interior are good and a Blackstone test turns out clear..

You sure the misfire code is not a blown head gasket? I'd say $12k if it doesn't pass a leakdown test/compression test.

If you really want top dollar you need to fix the all the small issues and the aesthetics. Personally I wouldn't care about the subframe because I'd want to fix it my way.

Regarding the vanos, most of it is overblown and there's nothing that you need to necessarily do except to have the oil pump disc redrilled (or new hub). See ocean's post re: price range I think is feasible.

Wow, and here I thought my jet black '03 SMG 150k with rod bearings and subframe complete within last 5k miles was worth at least 18k. Tough crowd.

Owners are always the toughest, because they're already owners. I'm always like "I'd never pay that" but I realize that's easy for me to say because I already own one. It's universal. Everyone who DOESN'T already own one will pay more for the privilege.

He didn't post pictures. How is anyone supposed to propose a truly accurate estimation without detailed pics? Body, paint, and interior condition (assuming the car runs and drives decently) are what determines which end of the low/high range a car falls within for 98% of buyers. If the car is immaculate things change dramatically.
