If you join Avants, you get a discount code for 10% off at FCPEuro (and a bunch of other places). They also have a cool magazine they send out quarterly. It’s been well with the $99/year for me.

Advance Auto is clearing out a ton of TEQ and gear wrench hand tools. Got all this for $62. Didn’t really need the tool kit but at $17, I figured I’d get it to loan out to friends. One of the stores I went to didn’t have red pricing tags for the tools, but they still rang up at discounted pricing.

FCP's policy is no secret. They advertise it and promote it. They even have an Instagram account for it. It's a large part of the reason that many of us spend large amounts of money at FCP. But it's not mandatory, so you do you. 😁
Every one of us values our time and energy differently is the takeaway from all this.

Not so much a deal, but an endorsement. I bought this torque wrench (30-250 in. Lb.) specifically for Vanos work as I didn't have an IN. Lb. wrench at the time.
CDI I guess is made by Snap On, please feel free to correct. After two years and many many uses this wrench has stayed caliberted and is well made in general.

          https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0046...b_b_asin_title

Also I used this tool so I could accurately torque the hub bolts with Vanos installed.

My next purchase will be a Snap On Techangle digital torque wrench.
I will likely buy it used an have my buddies Snap On dealer calibrate it for free, I believe their products have life-time warranty regardless of original purchaser.

CDI is reputable as it's a subsidiary of Snap-On, made here and the ratchet mechanism is made in Taiwan. The only thing I don't like is the flimsy direction switch.

As far as warranty service for Snap-On, it's up to the dealer's discretion really. If you didn't buy it from them they may deny you service but you can ultimately send it to Snap-On themselves.

Okay I thought it was just me. The direction switch on the CDI is so annoying.

Good tool though. Had them recalibrated last year and they all were still within spec.

My Kobalt torque wrenches do just fine. I actually really like the digital ones. I was comparing my 3/8s digital Kobalt to a Matco one and it was literally the same torque wrench with different colors. Even the design was the same. Some tools are a rip off and some are not. I do believe Lowes offers a lifetime warranty on their tools. Kobalt isn't the best tool out there but unless you're wrenching everyday, Snap On isn't needed. I definitely love Snap on rachets though. Those are not Chinese.

Matco has brilliantly positioned themselves under the guise of a legitimate tool brand amongst their tool truck peers.

Just an FYI: When buying tools off amazon, please double check to see if the manufacturer will honor the warranty. I know Grey Pneumatic does not.

Milwaukee M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 3/8 in. Impact Wrench and Inflator Combo Kit with 3/8 in. Drive Metric Socket Set - $149

Needed the inflator. I doubt the impact wrench will be able to remove lugs, so I’ll probably sell it. And I like my stubby impact.

Not on sale anymore but I got the Ridgid high torque impact wrench with 4 Ah battery and charger for $120

It isn't on sale at the moment but I literally use this every single day and I love it.

Agreed! This ratchet is a life saver. Can have the ratchet for $80-90 if you get it as a “free” tool with one of those Milwaukee kits.

For all quickjack users looking to wall mount

home Depot has them for half the price compared to buying directly from quickjack. I ordered them, got them in the mail and can confirm they dropship directly from quickjack and are the latest black powdercoated version
