OEM Matching Individual Color Leather Dye & Driver seat Leather Seat Cover

Guys, picking up an extra full grey e46 M3 interior for $75.

The driver side leather is torn up & needs new leather covers, but the other door panels and seats are decent with some tlc restoration. I mainly want the door handles & rear arm rests for that price. I already have a good condition black interior. So, I want to tackle a new project with nothing to lose, looking for all your suggestions, advice, and input on what I can do with the full grey interior.

Ideally, looking for a Leather Dye company that has Laguna Seca Blue Dye, or even imola red dye.

    - I searched quickly online and found a reference to a German Company "ledertechnik"
    https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...1034854&page=3

    - I see colourlock, but I'd need a larger amount of dye for the full interior.

    - I can go to my local auto paint store for custom colors. I'd need an OEM paint code match for the interior blue dye. just in case if anybody has done this method. The quote on the mixing is about $27 a spray can for exterior body paint, when i've called for body paint.

    - For the driver side leather seat cover, have found Lseat.com, for normal colors.

    - Or just take the trim pieces off that I wanted & resell or dispose of the grey. In my area grey interior postings are up for months or years.

Please let me know your suggestions, advice, input for finding OEM matching leather dye for individual colors, and a good deal on the driver side seat leather. Or I'm sure ppl will come up with other out of the box ideas in addition. Thanks in Advance!

Check out this thread. Great transformation from grey to cinnamon:

And here’s a link to the manufacturer of the product. I believe they’ll also make any color you want in addition to the colors that were available from the factory (Imola red):

Our Leather Colorant Kit is used and recommended by professional upholsterers in both the furniture and automotive trade. Not only that, but the colorants we use are the same kind as the ones used in the manufacturing of top quality leather hides.

After reading the thread, the OP & others mention that cleaning prep is the most crucial step.they state it multiple times, & i have watched some videos. The finished product looked very good.

many different prep cleaning & scuffing & chemical adhesion promotion methods: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ke57Vxj_SeM

ok, looks like furniture clinic is sold out currently, but I'll contact them about when they'll be ready to mix individual colors.

jrgatfh, appreciate your post & thanks for the resources!

Do ppl have personal experience with Prestige Auto Leather? As it looks like ASC fabrics had referenced them. In Prestige's pictures they resprayed & dyed & refinished & restored red seats, so I'll try calling to see if they have other dyes. Looks like Prestige also sprayed a custom blue dye in their pictures as well.

I also see this thread of a forum member using Joni's services for a full swap at Prestige. Then other forum members posted about German AutoTops, & GAHH.com (looks like they're the same physical address in N Hollywood LA), but it doesn't look like they have the dye color i'm looking for. I'll call them too:
Bmwrestoredseats Just finished installing the new cinnamon interior from Prestige Auto Leather in CT…quality is unreal. Highly recommended!

Covers for cushions and backrests (4pc Set) Notes:Specify if front seats are sport or standard style For seats with heaters, the old covers must be sent to us for re-installation

GAHH luxury European and vintage seat cover upholstery restoration kits are available in a variety of colors and material types.
