      Might be a leak from the weep hole at the top of the transmission. That would follow the joint between the halves.

        I wrapped the drain and fill bolts with teflon tape, but I can't seem to reach 37 lb/ft with my torque wrench. I only stopped because the bolt feels like it hit a dead spot where anymore more force can strip it. Will have to wait and observe to see if it still leaks.

          Don't use teflon tape. I did - and they still leaked and it made the torquing difficult. They ended up going deeper than they should have.
          Use the PTFE thread sealant I suggested above.
