    Radiator support from convertible, worthwhile?

The radiator support from a convertible seems to be more reinforced than the standard stamped steel one. It ties together the two engine-support arms as well as the wheel arch sheet metal. Also, ~1.3kg heavier.

Has anyone installed this piece, and was it noticeable?

I recently parted out a convertible, and it definitely had the core support that you are calling the “standard” one.

            Those lists aren't always perfect:

I fitted one to my M3, didn't notice a difference(I don't track me car) but it is way more rigid so it by theory it should firm things up.
