Steering wheel swap - can't get airbag to sit straight

Finally got around to putting the "new" used plate in, seems to have fixed the problem. It fits a little better and I haven't had the horn go off on its own YET, so hopefully we can call it done.

Texas good looking out. MTiz the problem is less the cosmetics, and more that it hits the horn contacts and thus randomly blasts the horn with no warning lmao.

Mine never sat flush again after I got the airbag recall. I just got used to it.

The torx screws that you see on the sides and at the bottom is what adjust the bracket in/out and as such control the depth of the airbag position inside the steering wheel. Just screw those in a bit more, then make sure the airbag sits all the way in.

If you can release both clips at the same time with an extra pair of hands you can avoid the problem on removal but it’s highly impractical

If this wheel has the same bracket I may be able to take off the bracket, don't think they would charge much for that type of part.
I'll post back if I grab it.

The only fool proof way to prevent this is three sets of hands. Two people to press on the clips at the same time while the other person pulls the airbag out evenly. Also be careful reinstalling the airbag as the newly recalled ones dent stupid easy above the roundel.
