    All-season Tires

    Got a flat on my right rear this morning.

    Going to see if it can be patched tomorrow morning, but I'm planning ahead for a new set.

    What would you recommend?

    Looking at the pic, I think I drove just a little too far on it. That looks like a pretty serious score on the sidewall. Doubt that's fixable.

    Tire Rack has the Conti ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus in stock.



    Very similar, if not what I already have on it.

    I'd love to get some Pilot Sport 4S, but living in Wyoming, I think an all-season would be a better get than a Max Performance summer tire like that. Even if I do have the Jeep for winter driving.



    Conti's are quite a bit cheaper too.

      I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 on my F15 X5 as a 3 season tire. They are phenomenal . There's zero reason to even slow down in pouring rain other than traffic. I run dedicated winters but these perform well below freezing. Never ran in snow.

      These are the stock tire on the C8 corvette.

        I was thinking of those, but it appears they've only got one front in stock and the other 3 are backordered.

          If you can't find them anywhere else then I'd say the Conti DWS06 is the next best option.

            I’d recommend not getting all season tires.

            2005 IR/IR M3 Coupe

              For my MI cars, I've run DWS / DWS 06 for years. I also keep a dedicated winter beater there, but those let me run whatever car I want as long as there's no salt out. I've never missed a summer tire.

              I might run summers if I drove the cars at the limit but since I don't, having 9 or 10 month availability has been worth more to me.

                    And that is EXACTLY the point of all season tires. Both wear DWS06, and you can guess which is the winter beater. And both are as athletic as this car if not more so... at least as I drive them. It all just depends on how you use the car.

                      The solution to that is running different tires in the summer and winter—not compromising your car 100% of the time.

                      all seasons don’t have better wet/damp traction than a good summer tire. They have less.

                      All season tires are not designed to work in the snow— they are all seasons, not all conditions.

                      You can get higher tread wear on all seasons than summers, but if your prioritizing that… you probably should be driving a different car.

                        Also, you might not be driving your car to the tires' limits on the street most of the time, but you will absolutely reach those limits in an emergency braking situation. The decrease in braking distance that you get from running the correct tire during the correct season could very well be the difference between accident and no accident.

                          I got stuck on the PA turnpike on thanksgiving weekend the first year I got the S55 in 40* sleet with my family asleep and truck drivers tripping… never again… that was the end of summer tires for me.

                            Also running the AS4s on my E70 X5 and recommend them. But if availability is an issue, DWS06+ came out recently too and the last one was great!

                              Shop confirms the tire is toast, sidewall is torn from when it went flat.

                              Shop is quoting me $283 for the single tire and to mount/balance it. Won't be in until next Tuesday.

                              TireRack is quoting me $218 (incl Tax) + $17 for the shop quote mount/balance. It could be there tomorrow.

                              I think I'm going to have TireRack ship them the tire.
