Once shipping and taxes are factored in, it's more expensive than buying from Amazon. At least for me.

for me 4 of them shipped for $10 but it shipped from local warehouse here in LA which is probably why it costs so much more to ship to NC. I don't buy 10w-60 on amazon unless its shipped directly from amazon itself. I rather pay a little more and get it from a legit vendor.

I'd watch for oil sitting too long on shelf - I've been told the additives separate after a few years and will lead to varnishing of the internals/other issues over time

Nah. Just give it a good mix/shake first. If it's sealed it's fine for years IMO
