    Avant4 Troubleshooting

Hi all! First post here, just picked up a new-to-me 2003 E46 M3. I purchased an Avant4 head unit w/ some of the supplemental accessories, and installed this past week. The head unit is great, but I’m trying to troubleshoot a few issues. I already sent this over to Avin support, but figured I’d post here as well in case others have had similar experiences:

    - When locking the car, the headlights turn on and off multiple times along with the turn signals and tail lights, instead of just the turn signals flashing. My concern is I have xenon headlamps and do not want them to flicker on and off this way. I searched through coding with both the Avant and Carly dongle, but have been unsuccessful fixing this. Is it possible there is a voltage issue with the radio triggering this sequence?

    - The “EQ” button on the unit doesn’t fully light up (the Q won’t illuminate). Appears a bulb is out behind it?

    - The TPMS kit I received is faulty - none of the valve stems in the sensors will hold air (air leaks from all). I requested if I could return this for a refund.

    - When in reverse, I cannot get the full screen PDC to display. I get the yellow exclamation point as if the car is searching for the rear view camera. I tried all PDC settings, but cannot get the car to only show PDC when in reverse.

Thanks in advance for any info/support/guidance!

I'm guessing you have the iBUS module too? (orange Resler module)

    If so try the following:

    - Make sure the orange Resler unit is set to "E46" mode. Other's have had similar issues due to it being set to "E39" ex factory.
    - Coming Home feature in head unit settings - turn it off

Thank you! Yes, coming home is turned off and It was already set to E46, so I switched it to another model and then back to E46. I now get a similar light show, but it doesn’t include the xenon headlights anymore thankfully - just the turn signals, fogs, and inner headlight bulbs. Is this a “normal” visual lock sequence?

you can fix this in the iBus app.

settings → CAR → factory settings (password: 126) → "others " → "prohibite reverse" to "disable" → "Apply" → "Exit"
        or
Settings → Auto Settings → Factory settings (password: 126) → "others" tab → "prohibite reverse" to "disable" → "Apply" → "Exit"
