But it’s time consuming and has a big lead time.

I’ve sold a few now on the board here, also in Alcantara a la CSL, but whenever I have a batch they’re all gone within the day or so.
Wow - incredible. +1, the best I've seen. Wish there were more artisans in the US with this level of attention. That's awesome that the stitching is even neater than factory. How much for the service (do I send you my steering wheel or I buy one with a core fee and my old one is sent back and core fee is refunded)?

Do you do Z4M wheels or have any recommendations on those?

I'm intrigued by this option from Renown - tricolor stitching, offered in leather or alcantara, and roundel horn button available.

Those are just Alibaba stuff with quality control and crazy marketing. YMMV.

                well that's disappointing.

but on the other hand, don't all parts come down to quality control? BMW isn't the actual manufacturer of their wheels either.

I use "quality control" to imply that you're getting the "best" China quality. I have not seen their products in person but it's pretty clear their focus is marketing and they do not "make" anything. You could get fancy and find their LLC information, pull shipping manifests, find the real manufacturer, etc but who cares.

If you like the style, go for it. Plenty of people in the E30 world have those wheels.

I'm all for getting an authentic part. I poked around on the renown site since I found them listed as a supporter on the BMWCCA website.

the traditional steering wheel makers that come to mind are OMP and Sparco, and it looks like OMP makes some stuff in Vietnam also.

who should I be looking at?
