I’m an outlier in that sense, I love 18s on an e36 as long as it’s not a track car. I have 18” AC Schnitzer Type IIIs (monoblock, not Racing) and some 18” BBS RGRs

Interesting, good to know how that differs. And that makes sense because a lot of 96 euro cars have that and I was wondering what the deal was.Originally posted by stephen View Post
Funny you should mention that. Braymond actually brought that up as well in the auction comments. Kind of a shame because the pre-facelift kidney grilles look so much better IMO. Pre-facelift nose panel and kidney grilles are somewhere on the list of wants for my 99.

Yea that thing's bad ass. A lot of that interior is redone which is fine, slick top and aluminum doors are really cool on those cars. I don't know if it's the same on Euro cars but US cars from 1996 have unique grilles and old style side markers, which this car does not have.
Regarding the “96” details. 1996 kidneys in the North America market are on all 1996 model year with 6 cylinders, including M3. This is a preface lift sized kidney but has its own design element that no other year has. In the European market, there are no model years, just the raw production dates. “96” specific kidneys only go by their short live month start/end dates. It is incorrect to suggest that the body panels on this car have been changed. The cutoff date for those early 96 elements were already changed to face lift for this month/year car. No body panels have been changed.

That's why I would remove and sell them. I would keep steering wheel tho and put ACS Type 1 17'' instead!Originally posted by Nate047 View Post
Yea see that is a cool car for sure, one of the 45 Canadian ones that kind of started it all. Can take it or leave it with the AC Schnitzer parts, 19-inch Type III Racing are a bit much lol. But that was such a flex back in the day. At this point in the game, all of that period correct tuner stuff is extremely rare.

I’d want a more exciting color but this would be my choice. Slicktop, style 24s, aluminum doors, 6 speed, S50B32, M cross...

There are a bunch of things wrong with this one but it would be a cool driver at like $35-40k. Pricing is already past a reasonable point IMO. Personally I’d rather have an EVO model with a cool spec. Or just a US M3 with an S54 in it 🤷🏻♂️

Not how I'd describe this GT....
Fantastic listing. Anything that EAG and Mike puts their name on is a car of the highest quality.

Building custom cars to sell without a buyer already lined up is a tough business model, these last auctions prove that 100%.
There are still people willing to pay for them but it seems the BaT market pool is drying up. I'm not sure if that is good or bad.

An interesting piece of information to show serious buyers, not the peanut gallery comment section on BAT, are getting wiser is that four of the last five s54 wagon conversions haven't met reserve.

Aesthetic issues weren't unnoticed, just overlooked. I wouldn't pay $50k for this one and I'm guessing his reserve was closer to $60 than not.
The paint job left a lot of want, TiAg looks rough outside of a factory job. I've redone the plastics on mine and it's very noticeable to me, tough color to do right imo
