EGT replacement with SSV1s-- can it be done with the headers installed?

I need to replace the EGT on my SSV1s. No desire to delete it, as the MAP based engine management uses it for running conditions.

The frame rail blocks removing it with everything in place.

Has anyone tried swapping it by removing the passenger side engine mount, and lowing the engine on that side?

    If not, any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

Destroy the old one to get it out, then move the new one to the bung right by the V1 cats?

Good idea. Wouldn't it be even more realistic for the CSL software? I mean, on CSL exhaust, the EGT is in the sect 1 (euro cats) no?

And Ian, I could have sworn you weren't using EGT because you've posted a few times that supersprint says NOT to use it with the HJS cats. At least, that's my memory.

I'm running the sensor, but have "cat protection" enrichment disabled.

... I suppose the section 1 is a more realistic location, but how much temperature is the exhaust really losing over those ~3' of tube. I have historically avoided relocating it there to avoid messing with the sensor wiring loom.

Yeah, just don't really want to modify the harness...

            Fair enough.

You recently removed your rear O2s, no? Could swap the plugs on one of those wires for the EGT plug and then move the pins around in the DME connector. Should be fairly quick and easily reversible in the future.

I had the post cat 02s installed in the headers (4 bungs total), and just had them turned down in software. Never needed to extend the harness for them :P

Ah damn, well I'm out of ideas then lol. Your idea of lowering one side of the engine is the only thing I can think of without removing the headers.
