Newbie here but how does one pull together this information, for example the pie chart shows 1% of the e46 M3s were ordered in individual colors. I believe I own one of those and am curious to investigate how many were ordered in my individual color over the e46 production run in the US. Thanks!

      What's the color?

The BMW E46 M3 was one of the best platforms produced by BMW, and owning one is something special in its own right. However not each E46 M3 is equal, with several trims and features produced some examples are rarer than others. If you are still in the market to buy one, check the numbers before you make your next purchase, you never know when you when you find a unicorn!

This is where the data was sourced. I created a number of tables and cross-referenced every post re LSB to create the above. Haven’t been back there in a while, but that was all I could compile as of the date of my initial post.

As an FYI, I don’t have access to any production data. I’m just good at old fashioned digging.

This is a slicktop LSB with a cloth interior. The problem is the seller is an absolute shade tree hack mechanic. A couple of years ago he had a totally F’d LSB in his driveway. Not sure if it is the same one..the one I saw was in such bad shape I didn’t even bother to look at it. I was buying an MK60 brake booster, had to pick him up and drive him to his storage like I was his fucking dad…then all he had was an MK20 booster and didn’t know there was a difference. What a waste of time.

Might be worth $50k in someone else’s hands…not this dude. But he knows what he has…don’t bother lowballing him! 🤣

Original laguna seca blue slicktop coupe supercharged with big brakes and the big three done. Original half cloth black interior. Currently smg. With a fully replaced smg system. However I do have an...

3 owner flip car with a supercharger. It is a cool car with a lot of potentially dicey quality of work. He'd have to prove to me that he didn't install a bunch of cheap stuff. I sold him a diff with a 3.15 ring and pinion, I think it ended up in this car. Shitty stuff like that.

Heyyyyy. I have 140k+ miles. And, of course, a binder of receipts nearly half a foot tall.

Bet the guy with the slicktop says you can trust him . . .
