SMG code 114: Auswertung Waehlhebel (Evaluation selector lever)

    Hi,

Anyone has experience with this error code? Attached full report from INPA.

What is the "selector lever"? Is it the shift knob in the middle or could it be the paddle shifters? I just removed the trim around the shifter while doing an armrest delete, could it be related to wiring in the area?

I find very odd that in occurrences 2 and 3, there are many zeros. Ambient temperature is at the minimal value and it seems like there is no data (all zeros and "undefined"s). What could be going on?

Here is the translation by Google for convenience:

Have you had the trim around the shifter removed recently? If you remove that trim with the car on it will trigger this code.

I would check the wiring going to the gear lever. And if all is fine you might need to pickup a new gear lever.

Yes, I did remove the trim and drive the car without it. So that's my explanation, huh? Interesting, why would removing a trim piece trigger a code?

Because the wiring that needs to be disconnected to remove the trim piece was disconnected and the car was running without those things plugged in.

Connect everything back and clear the codes. See if they come back.
