    Any strut spacers/shims available?

    I installed Eibach springs recently, but they lowered the ride height far more than claimed - 25-30mm.

    I need to raise the height by 20mm to stop scraping on speed humps etc.

    Is there anything out there?

    BMW has one for the E46. Will this fit the M3 too? (ECS doesn't list it as compatible) - part no 31306779671

    The rears have thicker spring pads available (look for non M part #s I think. M3 is 5mm, but there's 10mm & 15mm iirc). Fronts don't, so you'd have to make or find something. I would find some 1/8" or 3/16' rubber sheet and cut out some spring pads donuts.

    Yes, non M spring pads fit - same control arm I believe or at least same dimensions.

    Or you could add some Dinan reinforcement plates on top of the strut mount, under the strut tower. That'll add severall mm.

      Sounds like you are having problem with the fronts given the spacer pn you included. I don't think it will fit, but I'm not 100%.

      Are you running the stock rubber pads in front?

        I am interested in this as well. My ride height is basically even after RACP reinforcement, so I want to restore the factory rake.

        Already have the reinforcements, and I hope GC street plates will raise it a little more. I also have an extra set of pads. I am going to see if doubling them up is feasible. It seems like it might work with the upper.

          I can confirm the genuine 20mm aluminium front spacer for E46 DOES NOT FIT THE M3, as it rotates everything 90 degrees and this affects camber by around 40mm!

            I settled on 20mm poly front suspension spacers/lifters i found on Amazon and previously used on my Z4. They come with longer bolts and do not rotate the suspension so they wont throw the camber way out beyond adjustment.

              Are these placed between the strut top hat and the strut tower, or between the spring and the strut top hat? As you mentioned longer bolts it sounds like the former.

              You really want to go for the latter as that will restore some of the lost suspension travel. And thus provide better handling as well as comfort as you won't be hitting the bump stops as much.

              I've used double lower rubber spring pads on the bottom side of the spring and a donut shaped sheet of 5mm rubber on the top side of the spring (above the stock rubber spring pad).
              This worked great with the Eibach springs.

                You can also double up on spring perch bearings for an extra half inch of travel & height. This worked well with my Dinan setup to restore lost travel. I second the comment above that any spacer should also restore suspension travel for both comfort and performance reasons, and a spacer on top of the strut hat won’t do that.

                  Double spring perch bearings is quick n easy, nice idea! Also have the same issue as OP.

                  So I gather that plates on top DO raise height but DONT regain travel. And we want to compress only spring and not move (lower) the location of where the strut bottoms out (bump stop/top hat/piston).

                  I think benefits can be found w strut plates in increasing ride height on short body coilovers using less spring preload. Similar effect as the 3dm spacer?
