why is E85 still in our petrol supply

This is doing nothing to make me like ethanol more

I wish I could prove it, but I suspect E10 is a big factor in why headgasket failures on these cars are very rare here while very common in Europe.

Our 20 year old Honda mower is still working pretty well too.

Project Farm has some interesting videos. There is definitely effect, but that is if sitting or constantly being submerged (this video was 9 months of sitting)

Hmm seems like our gas already has enough ethanol to cause issues, but fuel stabilizer does help. At e85 though, it doesn't apoear to be able to stop water collection/corrosion.
