Car will not start after SMG GPS R&R. Need Help with INPA gear adaptations

Symptoms over years indicated a failing GPS on my SMG tranny. Some days only gears 2,5, and 6. Other days worked well with ALL gears. Heat of Summer seemed to make it worse.
I bought guaranteed working used GPS.
We tilted the tranny down for access and, installed the "new" GPS using DIY on forum. We replaced all springs and detents (wear items) on Driver's side.
items 5 through 10 on this schematic:
    https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...56#23317530787

    Current Symptoms:
    1) Car shows a FLASHING N and will not even turn over. Battery is full. Disconnected and reconnected the battery. Same results. No start
    2) I should be able to shift into second gear at rest. Can not shift into 2nd gear.
    3) If I push the spring loaded shifter to go from S to D, the car kicks into a flashing N. Not right.

I have INPA 5.0.6, which I barely know how to use. DO I NEED AN EARLIER VERSION?? I have the correct USB to OBD cord. I can get IPNA to display some readings but can NOT figure out how to bleed my clutch or Run Gear Adaptation program. I cant even find the page for that. Pretend I am a dummy with coding and walk me through adaptations, step by step. Actually don't need to pretend, I AM a dummy with coding.
Bleeding the clutch would be nice too. Clutch is good, BTW. The car shifts GREAT when the old GPS decided to work. Now, the car will not even START!

SHALL I JUST GET BMW GT1 SOFTWARE? I read that it will perform the SMG GPS Gear Adaptation just fine. How do I get that software online for my Windows 10 HP M4?

Or do I have a faulty used GPS? We can try to install my first GPS and see what happens, I REALLY do not want to have to borrow $$ to buy a new BMW $850.00 GPS

I think we should at least try and run gear adaptions. My BMW software is on a HP M4 windows 10 laptop. I had Bc Cables in the UK send me DVD disks full of INPA and other software and the proper USB to OBD cable to me.

If I I don't have the PROPER version of INPA, I will buy another online immediately. Which one? I can get my INPA to give me some INFO on my SMG, but cant seem to get it to DO anything. .INPA would never indicate if my GPS was not working when the GPS would stop working for 5 days at a time. The GPS would just start working again on its own, but was NOT working most of the time recently.

We replaced the Crank position sensor and the temp sensor, both under the tranny suffering little fluid loss. We re connected the wiring.

Probably low pressure; does the pump prime when open the door?

Disconnect the PLCD sensor cable from the clutch slave cylinder and see if it will start.

Use. mike’s bmw tools. Its the only one that I have gotten to work for SMG bleed/adapt.

Flashing N could be hood sensor or door open but that only prevents shifting not starting.

          Read codes from smg unit?

Hey, THANKS! I DL'd Mikes Tools and fixed my MS .NET Framework 3.5 with an update on my Win 10. Re tried the installation of Mikes and that worked just fine. I have the instructions (MS Word note from Mike) to configure my USB/COM cable and choose the correct port. Unfortunately, I don't have my cable at work. So, I will do this at 9AM after my shift ends at 8AM.

I read ADAPT first, THEN bleed. IS that correct?

One more thing. I just could not take the chance my used GPS is bad, so I ordered another one guaranteed to come off a working SMG car that was throwing zero codes.
It made it all the way from San Diego to me in Fort Lauderdale in record time. Usually Priority Mail doesn't do all that well to us deep in SE Florida. I will list the seller. His eBay name is bmwmparts1
I got it for $128.40 shipped.

My guy will be here again tomorrow, Saturday. Wish us luck. My poor M3 has been up on jack stands for a WEEK now!! I hate that.

I did searches. I still dont understand. I dont think SMG cars HAVE a PLCD sensor. Do they? We replaced the SMG GPS (Gear Position Sensor). Is that what you are talking about?

The version from Miles Tools I show is INPA 5.0.6 version 5.00 Does that sound about right?
I have no idea how to use the other software. I have fiddled with INPA from BC Cables (UK) on my other laptop. But I can never seem to DO anything with it. It never seemed to diagnose any issues with my GPS either. When my car would default to gears 2.5 and 6. I never saw ANY codes!

Eventually the GPS would start working again for a while and the SMG would be perfect. This went on all Summer. TOO HOT to work on my car then. Winter is here and all we managed to do is make my car not start or run at all. FACE PALM!!!!!
I did buy a SECOND GPS just in case.

I will configure my cable to Mikes Tools, and see if I can DO something with his version of INPA.

PLCD sensor is part of the slave cylinder. I believe it measures position of the slave cylinder plunger.

Yeah should be right. You need to go into Special Tools and select SMG, then select bleed, then adapt.

But first I would read codes from the SMG ECU.

Just to be sure we’re talking the same thing: where is the GPS located on your SMG?

Exactly as shown in this thread

Special Tools?? WTF? Bro, seriously. You need to back off and see me as a totally overworked, sleep deprived person who has NO idea what you are talking about. WHERE is "Special Tools"? Consider me not having a clue.
EDIT: I finally found a thread telling me how to access it. Its BURIED!!! Must HOLD shift and then click on F9 on the screen. Christ.

I FINALLY found special tools from another thread...this one https://www.e46fanatics.com/threads/...ation.1190233/
You MUST hit the Shift button and HOLD it!!!!......... then you see it. Select F9.
I ran a bunch of tests. Seem to be OK plenty of pressure 85 bar. Solenoids and valves seemed OK.

I was able to switch from gear to gear but they never stopped flashing. They showed up in the display with some German script in RED...meaning bad. I have yet to translate the issues on that.

N is still flashing. (EDIT: Read on. I finally got the car to start. But NO gears)
CAR WILL NOT START!!! Gear 1 has disappeared now. ONLY a flashing N can be seen. I can not get ANY gear to show using the SMG shifter.

I ran gear adaptations TWICE. Mike lied. There is PLENTY in German I had to translate.
The gear adaptations did not "complete properly:
and in German about the gear adaptions: "The middle of the shift path can not be adjusted'

Did my buddy lunch my SMG?
HOW can I take screen shots of my INPA screen? I have a bunch of crappy cell phone phots of various screens.

BTW, Mikes INPA seems identical to my BC Cables version. Same numbers I think 5.0.6
