I had another thread when BMW messed up on an oil change and ended up having to rebuild my entire motor. Everything was new except after inspection the two cams and the pistons could be reused. Everything other item was replaced and rebuilt. Everything’s been running great however today after opening the oil cap and looking inside I noticed one of the visible cam lobes had a notch out of it. I always thought cams should just be smooth. Kind of looks factory however I have no idea. Anyone thats gone into the motor can confirm this is normal that would be great. Thanks!

I assume it's for machining the lobes? A withess mark or to hold it maybe. Or does it fling oil? Where's Digger?Last edited by Tbonem3; 02-13-2023, 02:47 PM.DD: /// 2011.5 Jerez/bamboo E90 M3 · DCT · Slicktop · Instagram
