    Can’t Find Bosch OEM Injectors?

My car started a random misfire and I’m thinking it might be my injectors since my car sits for a majority of the year.

I wanted to go ahead and just replace all six, but I realize that FCP and ECS are both out of stock for what seems like a while for OEM injectors. Was hoping to avoid sending them out due to long turnaround times.

Has anyone replaced injectors with any other reputable option without changing injector size? I don’t really want to change up my tune running a different injector, but I suppose if I have to go that route I have no other option.

I know I'm not answering your question, but I inquired to Summit Racing on the Bosch 62690s and they said April/May timing for restock. I think what is happening--exacerbated by the general auto industry parts shortages, labor shortages, material shortages and so on--is that this car is now so old that suppliers likely run batches of parts in limited quantities, at limited times, during the year. So if they are all gone, we just have to wait or, as you propose, find another application that works.

There is nothing to my knowledge that is plug and play. Tuner required. I'm happy to be wrong but I don't think I am.

That really sucks, I should have snagged them last year when they were readily available and $50 a pop. Erm...

When the car is sitting next time, send them out for a rebuild. Does it happen all the time or when the engine is cold?

Only happens under load, cruising seems ok. The first occurrence was when I opened it up for the first time in a few months fully warmed up. Occasional thump at idle. Only started since sitting. Kinda bummed. Damned if I drive it damned if I don’t. Lol

You could possibly get these and have someone tune the car to make them work. I may go this route and have a backup file saved in case I am able to go back to stock injectors.

I took the car out for another drive yesterday and after a few slight misses at idle, she seems to be running normally. I am not 100% convinced yet but I think it might have been a case of some bad fuel running through the car. It was about 3 or 4 months old. Fingers crossed!

Doing some more digging, found these injectors

                    Bosch Part # 0280156065

Seller stated they are a direct plug and play for S54, looks like it is also used on VWs and Audis. Not sure if anyone has had any experience running these.

And found them here, both same part numbers. One is blue and the OEM Bosch for our cars is black.

Could this be a direct replacement indeed?

They are not exact but very close. 263.8 cc per minute where as ours are 268.4 cc per minute.

Damn that's the best lead we've had yet, would they actually fit? o-ring looks to be lower down? Who's gonna take one for the team

OE injectors are close to maxing with bolt ons.

                            189,7 g/min.(VW) vs 193g/min S54

Yea it will run a bit lean at WOT.

its better to go over the OE flow rate rather than under.

My personal preference is the BOSCH 62431 (06A906031BC/0280156063).
they are rated @ 269 g/min, and have your tuner dial them in.

dl.m3 ZiMMie Just received the 62431 injectors. Did y’all remove the white plastic ring and o-ring, and install an OE o-ring in the OE injector location? That was my plan, but I’m worried I’ll damage the injector if I try to remove the plastic ring. It’s on there pretty tight.
