HAHA dude.. I feel this. I had to replace the intake cam position sensor not too long ago. So the IM has to come off, and those fucking clamps ruined my life for like... Way longer than I'd like to admit.

What's the hot ticket for aftermarket replacements?

Yup can’t go wrong with Karb. I haven’t received my snorkel so I can’t comment on fitment issues.

One minor downside to not running the "aux." (rear hole) hoses is that I am getting this weird kind of hissing noise at certain throttle input levels. It may be something else though, doesn't sound bad, just a different sound I am getting used to.
The flap may play a role in this sound but I'm pretty sure if I got any sort of tubing longer than 6" this noise would go away. Probably a venturi type effect.

If they had to meet noise regulations to legally sell the car in some countries, then they would spend the time and effort.

Every dyno I’ve ever seen show it making less power with the flap closed than open— so, if it’s a throttle, I’m not sure what its function is.

I don't have the flap and the volume depends greatly on throttle input.

That was me and I absolutely recommend buying the Section 1 directly from SS. I did not have labor cost in the equation, plus I chopped off the flanges and welded in v-bands, the point being I was already cutting things up. But generally speaking, its a no-brainer to buy straight from SS.

Perhaps more importantly, and this is addressed with buying the SS section 1 catted (SS uses HJS cats), is you install good quality cats.

A company has a write-up on why use HJS cats. Its starts with an F and they make exhaust components for this vehicle....completely blanking on the name.

I am interested as well as I have the flap, but it isn't wired yet. I noticed at idle there really isn't much of a difference at all. In fact I don't really even hear the CSL airbox until just under 4k with 4.10 gearing.

So the only difference is w/o the flap, the induction volume is a bit (or a lot) louder at lower rpm's than one with the flap?
