    Camber plate newbie - help needed on weekend install

    First time installing camber plates, trying to knock it out this weekend in order to make my next track event. Something seems off and I don’t get a clear understanding from the install instructions. First I ordered this from Turner and got all this extra hardware. I think the instructions direct you to use one of the two pieces in my hand, but it does not specify (they are slightly different). So my first question is which one? And what is all the other HW for?


    Second question - I think I reuse the stock spring perch and I bought a new rubber isolator (already fitted in second pic). Camber plate to the right. However in the third pic: do I just plop the camber plate on top of the spring perch? It does not seem right, metal on metal - this is where I feel I am missing something.

    Think if I can’t figure this out I may just got back to stock for now … was surprised at how much rubber is removed from the system (makes me worry about how these will ride). But again maybe I’m missing something.

      Or just swap stock hats side to side for more camber.

        Disregard - walking away for an hour or two helped. Missed the yellow bearing that was stuck on the stock hat. Think I got it now. Embarrassing but maybe this experience helps someone else.

          Ok got them in, look ok? Should I be worried about access to all 4 of the Allen bolts?

            A bit late, but those spacers you're holding in one of your pics go on the shock shaft. In between that and the camber plate.

            The allen bolts are for caster adjustment, so only a problem if you're trying to change that. Camber is still adjusted like stock.

              Yes thanks I have the spacers on the stock, think I figured it out.

              On the caster adjust, now that it’s in will the alignment shop have to lower the whole shock assembly to adjust? I assume that’s possible?

                No need to remove. Should be able to access the four bolts by sliding the plates left and right.

                  BTW after removing my right front strut, the strut cylinder would not stay up by itself and would sink down into the body of the strut after I pulled it out. Is this a sign of a worn out strut?

                    Yes. Don't replace them individually

                          So I thought I was done with this install until I tried to torque down the nuts on top of the strut shaft. They bottomed out at the end of the threaded portion before they contacted the washer. There is about 1/4 inch of a gap, see first pic. Anyone run into this before?

                          From above, I diss use all the parts referenced on the instructions, namely the stepped cone looking bottom spacers, and a top washer. There’s are the pieces that are left. I did not use the slim walkers with a black cone looking thing. I don’t think this will make the difference though.

                          My main concern is making sure these are installed properly. Obviously I could get a washer to make up the gap if needed. I so’ did also source new OE replacement Bilsteins if that makes a difference. Thanks.

                            You sure you put the shock shaft spacers in?

                              Yes I did, but now that I look at it I used the shorter one. So that must be it. Question now is do I have to take things whole thing out to swap or can I just throw some washers on the top? I know the answer … will just be removing this strut for the third time…

                              Sad because I called Turner and asked which one I should use and they were entirely unhelpful.
