No bass with OTA radio and Android Auto Pandora app, but plenty via YouTube

As shown in the "What did you do for your M3 today" thread, I recently bought a new radio for my M3, the Sony XAV-AX4000 at BestBuy and had them install it (not many options here for this kind of stuff and I didn't want to do it myself).

When I listen to the radio, there's little to no bass. When I listen to Pandora via Android Auto, there is little to no bass. However, if my phone is connected to the radio and I go on YouTube and play music, there's plenty of bass (for example, the 'Bass Test' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b-FEaGJG8Y ). Enough that it rattles the car (and is far better than I've ever thought - I was considering getting a new sub in the near future as I figured the one I have [and believe to be stock] wasn't very good anymore).

What might be the problem? I've little to no experience with car audio. The radio has crossover settings and the like, but the guy at BB warned to not bother with them as setting them wrong could be a fire hazard?? Other than the lack of bass in these "modes", the sound is great and actually increased the radio reception range. lol

Any direction you could give me would be very appreciated. Non-HK sound, no nav.

EDIT: Here's the spec sheet. Is this a power issue? Amp issue?

Check the radio's setting for each way you connect it. For example, my Kenwood did something similar and I found that the default settings faded all the sound to the front speakers only depending on what music setting I had on. So the factory setting may have had the fade equally balanced between front and rear for the Sirius setting, but when I switched to front auxiliary USB port the fade was set to all front. Once I set them for I was good to go - well until the battery was disconnected and I had to do it all over again. See if you have a similar issue.

I would start out with nothing? I assume you can control front and rear with the crossover?

The speakers in the doors are the same as in the rear shelf, so there is no need to run any crossover settings, just give them all full range.

The crossover only becomes useful when you do add that aftermarket sub so you can direct the lows to that sub and filter them out for the normal speakers.

Honestly, it doesn't sound like anything is wrong with your setup. This is probably just a source issue since you mentioned it varies depending on the input source. These apps typically have settings where you can control the output since it is streaming most of the time, it gives people some range on quality of output. This could probably be giving you issues more than hardware...
