I’m having the dreaded no crank no start problem. I’ve kinda narrowed it down to a few things. A faulty clutch switch, bad keys (none work) or a bad Ews. I was able to push start it by letting it roll and popping the clutch. My question is if my Ews or keys are bad would I be able to pop start it still?

No you shouldn't. Clutch switch sounds likely.BMW / E46M Interior & Trim Restoration.

No. Since you were able to push start and run the engine, then key and EWS are good, but if the EWS internal relay is bad then it can't run the starter.Originally posted by jpiazzam3 View PostMy question is if my Ews or keys are bad would I be able to pop start it still?
Pull the EWS off the connector, key turned to START and measure pin2 and it should be 12v. If not then bad ignition switch.
