M track mode button in steering wheel

I have searched for this but all I could find is an article on enabling the LED.

Does anyone know which wire of the connector plugging into the steering wheel control is transmitting the signal when pushing the m track Mode Button on a zcp steering wheel? I want to reroute it for a different function.

PIN 8, but the picture shown above is not a ZCP car, since it has the wiring for multifunction/cruise.

The ZCP button acts the same as a normal cruise control button, just the wire that gets grounded when pressing it runs elsewhere, hence they cant coexist.

EDIT: Perhaps I misunderstood and you just want to use a ZCP steering wheel in a normal car and give the button a function.

The button gets a ground from PIN 7, the brown/black wire in your picture, and when the button is pressed it passes that ground to PIN 8, the blue/black wire in your picture, that blue/black runs to the DME for cruise control in a normal car, and in a ZCP car it is brown/grey and runs to the DSC module.

Correct, it is a zcp steering wheel in a standard car.

I got the zcp wheel a while Back as I like the cleaner look.

With this setup is this possible to rewire into the DSC button to have the csl single button wheel to function to turn on m track mode on a Non CSL or ZCP M3?

It seems the DSC button outputs a 12v trigger to the DSC to turn off or on traction and M track mode.

Any one manage to get the CSL button to work on a Non CSL or ZCP vehicle?

You need to swap the ABS module to another version, we call this the 813.3 because the PN ends in that, that one has the support for the steering wheel button pin.

However, I think you could make some setup where the grounding on the steering wheel controls a relay, which in turn controls the DSC button wire from the centre switches.

I was hoping there was an easier way, without swapping the abs module and just by rewiring the switch to the DSC button.
That seems to be unlikely as

Pin 10 on the x10170 seems to be a constant 12v supply onto the steering clockspring, not a switched voltage.

I've tested the voltage on pin 2 of x521 and it seems to be a switched voltage when the DSC button is pressed, not a constant 12v. Battery voltage is present on pin 2 only when the DSC button is pressed.

So basically you are right, need to use the steering wheel CSL button to switch a relay to trigger 12v supply onto the DSC button output wire.

I was hoping there is a simpler way!
