Question about Karbonius M3 E46 Body Side Frame Panel

I have been watching all the nice parts Karbonius has for the E46 M3 platform and I was wondering if their CF side panel can be installed on a car WITHOUT a roll cage?

Let say you do RACP reinforcement, something like CMP topside reinforcement and Slon strenghtening wall, would the quarter panel/complete side body in CF gives the same chassis rigidity as original steel panels?

That would be a question up to Karbonius. Carbon can be much better for chassis applications than metal, but it has to be made accordingly. I would certainly ask Karbonius if it was made to be used without a cage.

Other improvements such as racp or a rear seat plate cannot be considered to compare as they strengthen different areas of the chassis.

The other question to ask is do you really want this on a street car? Installation will likely cost another 4k at least. Any small crack from a parking lot incident will require you to replace it.

Carbon can be repaired even if it cracks. You could patch it like drywall but won't ever get it back to cosmetically perfect. It won't dent. If the panel has to be removed...its gonna be a total wh0rebag!

I think a problem you might have is paint adhesion. I've been told that (I think) urethanes won't adhere well. Be sure to consult with a good painter.
