A suitable alternative to the OX187D is this Hengst filter:

      Rockauto has OX187D for $7.83 each. I order 12 at a time.

Do a google search for a 5% discount code if you're super stingy

$7.83 is basically the price difference from when I last purchased from FCP (including my shipping back to them). Looks like Rockauto for me.

Yup, I have a whole box of them, they don’t go bad over time, and I don’t have to order an oil filter each time I want to do an oil change.

In case someone really wants the Mahle 187, but doesn't want to buy from Rock auto as they also want to buy other BMW parts, AZautohaus, OEMbimmerparts and RMeuropean are 3 popular BMW parts sites that have the Mahle 187 for about $8-10. And if you're getting other parts, you might get free shipping.
