Fuel line hose clamp, RealOEM part number not matching up

Hey guys, looking for the correct hose clamp for the fuel lines on top of the fuel tank.

I ordered 16121180240 which is what RealOEM says, and FCP sent me the correct parts. But these are too small. The hose is about 25-26mm and the clamp is only good up to 15.3mm

Two questions. Does anyone have the correct part number for a larger hose clamp?

And perhaps more importantly, is there any reason why I shouldn't just get some similar clamps from McMaster Carr?

Bonus question: Does it really matter if they are the pinch style clamps vs worm drive?

Right there it indicates the hose clamp's range is up to 16mm so clearly not the one.

    I found this https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=11631716970.

There's no reason to not use some standard items from a hardware store - worm gear is fine (stick with stainless steel obviously)

I prefer the pinch style clamps so ordered a variety set of the OE supplier (Oetiker) off Amazon a few years ago.

I prefer pinch clamps on these that you aren't taking on and off all the time. Sometimes you are into tighter areas and the oversized form factor of a worm style might cause it to contact other parts of the car. And cheaper worm clamps are going to damage the hose, you don't want to have to pull the tank out because the hose gets cut through and causes a evaporative system leak that also is a nightmare to find.

The clamp still on the hose will have its size stamped on it, I bet this is the one you need: 11631716970ā€‹

Thank you guys, Iā€™m going to just get some from McMaster. I would have never thought to second guess the realoem diagram, it never crossed my mind that I would have to look and see if it was the right size in person. šŸ˜

You can't always trust RealOEM. I've had a few issues with it lately and have opted to just use ETK which is the actual BMW parts program.

Since you have access to the ETK, is it actually different that the RealOEM diagram?

Every time I've seen an issue with the RealOEM it was also an issue with the ETK.

I think I ran into this problem with the idle control valve and the ear clamp not being the correct side to fit over the hose and the ICV. It would not fit at all and I had to resort to using a worm drive clamp. I was not too concerned about that as it was only an air line and easy to access.

The nice thing about the pinch style clamps is that they create an even 360 degree seal around the hose and they won't pinch one end of the hose like worm drive clamps sometimes can. For something like a fuel line that is also hard to access, I'd probably get the correct size pinch clamp. Then again, I have seen a few M359 restoration videos where he uses worm drive clamps when replacing fuel lines, filters, etc.

ETK is also wrong. I'm not sure how they decided this is the right part number.

11 63 1716970 would be the right size clamp.
