I can supply that as well. Let me know if you need that.

I didnt see your post and I have already purchased a 55C BMW OEM motorsport T-Stat.

I live in Florida where the car has NO issues getting Hot. I also plan to run a DO88 Rad along with my DO88 oil cooler and BW Oil Diverter Valve. I want to be able to go on 30 min sessions in Sebring and not worry about the car getting hot.

Would you recommend I keep the 55C and do this 70C Sachs Fan clutch versus electric or get your 70C tstat and the fan clutch? I will see if I can return my 55 TSTAT before anything else

I added 75° options as well for Cold states.

The 70°-75° are all tested and it works great and no Check engine Light
is triggered so no need for adjustments in the ECU.

After many tests here is the data from the OEM spec:
    At 80° Opens 1mm at 80°, 83°~3mm at 85° is fully open
    Completely Closed at 77° +/-1°

    70°. At 70° opens 1mm at 73° ~3mm at 75° fully open
    Completely closed at 66° +/-1°

75° is right in between the OEM and the 70°.

Edit: I dropped the second option..with more than
10 people everyone wants install and go.

    $185 Plus shipping.

    Anri.
    Hi Anri,
A bit of back-ground on my car. It is not used during the winter when there is salt on the road, so not often when the temperature is below 10°C (50°F) and is frequently used on track. Summer temps are usual 20-35°C (68-95°F). Water temps stay around 87-89°C both on track and in normal use (189-192°F) - as per iBUS data.

Engine oil temps peak at 116°C actual (241°F) - which shows as just over 3/4 on the shonky BMW gauge.

Obviously I can notice the drop in power on track on hot track days from the straighline speed / braking points, where the peak speed drops by 3-4mph, so the ignition is obviously being retarded as per your previous comments.

With this in mind, which of the thermostats do you feel would be most suitable?
    Many thanks
    Mike

On s54 you will have to remove the middle gasket and install the OE O-ring in the thermostat housing.

they are like 15$ a pop.

radiator outlet temps near 60°C during cruise, after some pulls it gets higher and we drive slower. Still engine temps <90°C which seems really OK from my side.
    Only mods = CSL airbox.
