Who else reuses the “single use only” bolts of the front subframe reinforcement?

Am I the only one? Feels like I take that AL plate off once every couple of months, and no I don’t replace the bolts every time.

Asking for what torque spec you use if so, I know the bolts get stretched, etc.

I’m probably on the extreme lazy end of the spectrum: I replaced them once when I got the car, then never again. I get the gutentight with the electric impact. I’ve had it off about as frequently as you, and no issues so far after years of track days.

Nope, I don’t replace. But I do inspect and torque to spec when re-installing.

Heck you won’t find shops and you’d be hard pressed to find dealerships replacing them.

Also haven't replaced them. Have had them off the 02 M3 I used to own, and off my M coupe at least twice. They seem to torque back up fine.

Has anyone seen or heard of a failure of a reused one of these? I haven't.

The one by the CAB at an angle on passenger side sees some water ingress at the receiver. So that one needs to be inspected if you live in rust belt areas. As long as you tidy-up the threads you’ll be fine.

This is probably the only bolt that is officially single use that I don’t really care about, they seem fine to re use.

Never replaced them and have removed them several times. I have the plate off currently and was curious if there is any way to determine if the bolts should be replaced by visual inspection?

Agreed. I used to be picky about these and now I just don't care and it hasn't been an issue that I've been able to detect.

Plus or minus 30 degrees, so I go slightly below the lower end at around 45 degrees and the bolts get pretty tight at that point. Still using the original bolts.

If the threaded portion starts looking like a coke bottle, that should be replaced.
