Honestly, being from SE Ohio, I've really grown to love Casper WY. I love the wide open spaces.
Unfortunately, I rent and it's not cheap here b/c of the oil and gas boom/busts. I'm paying over $1k/mo for a one bed/one bath apartment. Ground floor, at least.
I did have an incident this winter that made me re-evaluate if I needed new tires or not (hence asking - figure I could get these through the summer and buy new AS in the winter, my preferred option). I was driving home and it had lightly snowed. Bit windy too, but nothing terrible for Wyoming. I was driving at 50mph because of the conditions and a semi went flying past me. The turbulence from the semi unsettled the car and I nearly slid underneath it. Probably the closest I've coming to dying since Afghanistan. The road conditions got a bit worse from there back to Casper and the car came loose 5 or 6 more times until I was slowing down to 35 or so. Drove to work in the Jeep if the weather wasn't nice. lol
I simply don't have somewhere I can really store 4 snow tires, else I might just do that. I also think I've read in previous research the best idea is to get 17" wheels as tires for them are a lot cheaper than for the stock 18"s, correct?
