    MAF Sensor Replacement

I have a DTC for the MAF sensor on my S54 swapped e30. I verified that the wiring pin out is correct so I can only assume it’s a bad sensor. I also had the same thing happen on my M3 a while back. Is it that common for the MAF to go bad on these engines?

Is Bosch the only go-to for replacement? I see Delphi can be had a little cheaper but there seem to not be many alternatives. Any suggestions?

Bosch makes the BMW sensor, so Bosch is fine from a reputable store. They can go bad, but it is not common.

Bremi makes one too but I've heard to go with Bosch for these.

How long do MAFs tend to last? I've been chasing a stuttering issue and it exhibited similar symptoms just worse with MAF disconnected. Mine has ~150k on it and there was a point where I ran an oiled BMC filter (learned the cons of this and went back to OEM). MAF cleaner didn't make a difference.
