    Adjustable swaybar end link recommendation

Looking for any positive experiences around using adjustable swaybar end links on the front. Mainly focusing on clunks here.

I purchased turner adjustable end links for the Hotchkis bar I put on, and they seem to clunk, noticeably. This may be install error, although I installed them at ride height and turned the rods to a loose resting state(then tightened the locking nuts down of course).

Searching around this forum, it seems Whiteline, Ground control, and Bimmerworld all clunk eventually?

    Appreciate any insights.

Which links did you get? They have two types.

Haven't had any issues with these end links - https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...s-pair/?pdk=Ag

Yep those are the ones I have. Good to hear you had good results. Perhaps install error or defective.

I had to dial out the length quite a bit with only a little bit of thread left, but I can't imagine that would cause a clunk.

Did you torque the end link nuts to 48 ft-lbs? A loose end link will cause a clunk. Also, Turner used to have a chart that would show which length is needed for the stock E46. KW require shorter end links.

I got godspeed off ebay for cheap and theyre great quality without the price tag.

followed these instructions and no issues.

When it comes to racecars, everyone seems to have a number of passionate opinions about setup, how things work, and that one part that will save you 2 seconds per lap. Regardless of the multitude of changes you can make to a car, it is important to make those adjustments with some kind of plan […]

I got the cheap moog links that look like they belong on a tractor but they're tight and no clunk

Reading that guide by Maxima SE and the comments had me thinking actually. If the lubed hotchkis bar rotates on it's own, and the endlinks are balljoints, why even need adjustable lengths? This is assuming the control arms don't collide with the links of course.

I have adjustable ones because I have coilovers and the stock endlinks wouldnt fit. Otherwise for stock-like mounting points you really don't need adjustable ones, it complicates things further.

I almost did too until I went on ebay and amazon and saw then for much cheaper.

Are you sure it is clunk and not the bushings creaking? Did you apply copious amounts of lube (I typically use synthetic suspension grease) on the bushings? I've got the GC adjustable end links with my original sway bars and I have no clunk. I had to use blue Loctite otherwise the nuts would eventually loosen and then I would get some clunk.

On one of my other cars with an aftermarket sway bar, bushings, and end links the bushings creak noticeably and it can sound very similar to clunk.

I realize not everyone is looking for "the best", but from what I've seen nobody makes a higher quality end link for our cars than SPL

Maxima you should do some research on Godspeed, that stuff is garbage. I'm glad it's worked out so far, but I wouldn't trust their parts to be on my car if you paid me. Literally 'the lowest bidder' type stuff.

I have bimmerworld end links that clunk as well. Dirt/grime gets in the sperical and degrade the fit over time. I have a new OE one for one side, and this adjustable one from turner for the other that should be going in this week. THese look like the closest to OE while still being able to remove the pre-load, so I hope it fixes the clunk without inducing the preload problem.

Ohh good idea. The bar came with grease but I was not super liberal with it. I lightly coated it. I'll pull it and regrease.

If these Turners don't work I'll certainly give these a go. I also read a positive review on these from another source.
