    Restoring M3 from the dead

So long story short I hit a pole after I fell asleep at the wheel a block from home back in 2016. My m3 is manual so I probably didn’t hit it too hard but it was a cement light pole and I did break it (almost fell on the vehicle but a tree held it up). Very lucky! After that the M3 sat for 7 years because I only had liability on it (lots of mods but still an older vehicle otherwise I would have had full coverage). Here we are today and after a TON of cash sunk into it (more than it’s worth by far) it’s back in running condition, painted and looks amazing. Smog was an ordeal but I finally got that sorted. Now, the issues are:

    1. I had ST coilovers and somehow they apparently survived the collision with being blown. The ride quality sucks though, it feel like I’m driving a gravel truck over bumps (which could be because it’s pretty low so it could be due to short shock travel). However, I was thinking of just buying the TCK best coilover set with the camber plates and just having that thrown in while also having them replace diff and motor mounts + fcabs and possibly front sway bar (which was ground control) but might buy a new eibach?) My goal is to have the ground hugging cornering beast it was before the accident.

    2. I was also considering once the suspension was replaced to buy the csl air box for the ultimate mod. The only issue is I don’t know of any shops in Los Angeles that do the alpha n tune for it.

My question is for the suspension refresh if I tell a reputable bmw Indy shop that I want to refresh the suspension and mounts and ask for their opinion on what should be replaced, will I most likely get hosed? Also, I noticed that over bumps the steering wheel sometimes pulls to one side or the other, would that be bad fcabs (other than alignment)?

The pulling on the wheel could be alignment, bad bushings, bad suspension, or any combination. Sounds like the accident was pretty bad, glad you're okay, but you didn't say what part of the car was hit. If any of the wheels contacted a curb/pole or whatever then it's a good chance they're damaged and need replacing.

I'm not from the LA area, but there are a bunch of shops down there and I'm sure somebody on here can recommend a good indy.

You need to take it to Kaiv in San Diego. If you want a cheap set of TC Kline DAs to rebuild, I have a set for sale.
