FWIW, I just cracked 160k and my diff is still working well enough with no noise. It has been through 70k of fairly hard driving with me, including a number of trips around Lime Rock Park. I will say I never, ever launch the car though. First gear is just for getting moving. Stock diff bushings.

Failing like that, wavertrac is great for a street/track car. Silent, predicable, easy, no clutches to wear out.

I also never had any issues with the stock diff— either in the first 160,000 miles of life in my m3 coupe, with track time, or the 230,000 miles in the m3 wagon (almost entirely street use).
Both V2’s. Both with real fluid change intervals 😜

The only issue with the stock diff is the M clunk which mainly happens at moving from stop. My 87K miles V2 already has this issue. The bearings and pinion/ring are stout.
