    288/280 Cam Compression

    Hey Fellas,

So I bought a motor that was said to have 190psi (stock cams). I put 288/280 cams in and now the psi is pictured.
I'm surprised as the variance is HUGE.

What are the compressions you guys are seeing with 288/280 cams?
Are you guys seeing 360whp with supported mods (SSV1 2.5 system, CF airbox, etc)?

    Thanks,
    Kareem

Lots of things affect cranking compression especially if you are comparing your results to someone else's:
    • Battery voltage
    • Engine Temp
    • Was the throttle WOT?
    • Flywheel weight
    • ETC

My compression before 280/272 cold engine
      Cylinder:
      1. 162psi
      2. 169psi
      3. 170psi
      4. 165psi
      5. 173psi
      6. 172psi
With cams obviously static compression drops all things remaining equal. I think after cams your stated compression is quite good. Pistons will claw back a lot of whats lost and more imo. In the dyno sticky I think BBR tuning did a very comprehensive test with new pistons and rods and noted some interesting things.

With CSL, ssv1, and 280/272 and stock injector mine made 348whp on dynojet (engine @151k miles).
