    Cheap crank sensor

If anyone needs a new crank sensor or you just want to stash one for the future, rockauto is having a close out on the Standard Motor Products PC576. It’s an OEM sensor, complete with BMW logo stamped on it, just comes in a different box. FCP Euro sells the OEM sensor for $160. So it’s not a bad deal.

Do you have pics of this? Thanks for the heads up, but never heard of this brand.

I have not heard a case of these crank sensor going bad. No semiconductor chip inside but just some fine copper coils so it's very reliable vs the non-M Hall sensor type.

The sensor itself, sure. But the wiring from the sensor on my car was in horrible shape when I rebuilt the engine. I'm not trying to sell anyone on this, just providing a resource for an OEM sensor if needed.

The wiring? You meant the wiring of the cable connected to the sensor? The wiring condition has nothing to do with the sensor condition -- good or bad sensor. Am I missing something here?

He means the like 3 inches of wiring that is part of the sensor, not the harness side.

Who actually make the original sensor?
I've never heard of SMP perhaps this was an American market only supplier?
