The light sensor should also be working, if it’s not, then the chip for it has gone faulty.
Good job of managing to fit the touchscreen. It’s not an easy job! Touchscreen panels will add extra glare. There is a gap/air between the original screen and the touchscreen. Even if it’s sitting directly on top of it.
Is there no option to adjust the resolution with the PI? You should be able to adjust it, like in the photo.
