Interest in a carbon fiber roof group buy?

I’m in a mood to curate! Let’s curate! And I’m not suggesting to do a group buy and charge a price that is more than what a roof normally would go for. 🤣🤣🤣

Seriously, got the process down so I’d like to advance my composites shop. Enter a carbon roof group buy.

Roofs are $1000 each plus shipping.

$500 deposit. All roofs will be 3k 1x1 carbon outer (same as the CSL) and a 12k 2x2 inner. Weight will be about 6.5 lbs. There will be no UV protection. Recommend clear coating for a street car. There may be minor surface imperfections that can be fixed by clear coating.

No charge, I can do 2x2 instead of 1x1.

I can make a roof in a spread tow fabric on the outer and inner which is 5.4 lbs - 1 lbs lighter - cost is $200 extra. The fabric will have imperfections, just the nature of the fabric.

$200 for a carbon fiber roof bow with the purchase of a roof.

Shipping is about $250-$350 depending on location. This is for LTL freight to a terminal near you. It is $200 extra for door to door service.

This is not for you if you want ready to install for your cars and coffee event.

Will the roofs be domestically produced (US-made) or sourced from an international supplier?

Is the spread toe more ridged? Are you going to recreate the cross bar as well? I am interested depending on timeline.

The spread tow is stiffer and has a better resin ratio - meaning the carbon content is higher which reduces weight. The downside is spread tow will never have perfect cosmetics. Really more for performance - ligher and stiffer. The roof with the spread tow came out to about 1 lb lighter vs one with a conventional 1x1 weave that you see on the CSL roofs. Similar stiffness but the panel is thinner

Takes about 1-2 weeks to get a single roof done, really depends on how long it takes for materials to arrive.

I can make crossbars...would need a demand for it. Guessing that would take 2-4 weeks to get that done. Probably be about $300 ea for 5 parts.

I’d love to. Just need a roof to pull a mold from.

There's no market for wagons, I've got (10) on my shelf and no buyers, lol

A steel OEM roof is $2400. It can be done, need 5 people want to pay $1500 each up front and wait 3-4 months for a wagon roof. Or if someone has a dent free non-sunroof wagon...I can pull a mold possibly without damaging the paint.
