Steering Wheel Differences -- Part Nos.: 020 vs. 021 vs. 022

    Hey guys:

Other than the top half functionality (multifunction, ZCP button, blank) and stitching color (black vs tricolor), does anyone know if there is a difference between the following wheels: (a) 32-34-2-282-020; (b) 32-34-2-282-021; and (c) 32-34-2-282-022?

Or, better said, is anyone running the 32-34-2-282-021 wheel? If so, same thickness and leather texture as the OG wheel?

    Thanks in advance!

020 is the one for a Manual M3.
021 is a M-sport wheel, they come with black stitching and not the tri-color M3 stitching, this wheel also comes without buttons, but one can simply add those.
022 same as 021, except with buttons.

Thanks, dude. In terms of diameter, thickness and leather, do you know if all three wheels the same?

Don’t need tricolor stitch, but don’t want a wheel with a bigger diameter, skinny grip or leatherette.

I have only ever ordered the 020, but I am pretty certain the stitching is the only difference.

Not sure is this interests you, but I have a wheel similar to the 021, except I had it wrapped in smooth Nappa like leather, tri-stitched, and made 1cm larger in circumference. I know that’s not exactly what you want, but a good visual of what the 021 wheel looks like with the blank button trim. Details are below, and if you want to see it in person, I’m not too far from you.

I recently purchased this immaculate 2004 Silver Grey E46 M3 with 26,000 miles with the intention of doing a CSL inspired build. My son, who is 19 months old at the time of creating this thread, already has the BMW bug. I wanted a long term project that we could enjoy together and work on throughout the years. This is my 8th

looks like he sells exactly what you want, factory leather, black stitched, factory diameter. Add the blank button trim panel and you’ve got yourself a 021 wheel

You guys (and this forum) are awesome. Really appreciate all the feedback and advice.

Bry5on can you confirm that the 021 is the same diameter and grip thickness as the stock/original?

Highly recommend GSS. I’d suggest reaching out to him on IG to see if you can get it a little cheaper.

Yes it is. I replaced the stock M wheel with this. Naturally my leather had shrunk on the old wheel so this softer leather makes it a hair thicker, but that will be true for all variants.

These M sport steering wheels should all be the same thickness - late model 330i ZHP M Sport, M3, ZCP/CSL, M5.

The standard and sport E46 steering wheels were thinner.
