Good to hear. I just worry about track use and high heat environments. Running MT90 in my ZF320 now. I tend to grind if I shift too fast. Same with the previous ZF320.

I'd love to use FFL4 since my E90 M3 is a DCT. Might give it a try soon.

I use Ravenol MTF-2 in my Z4M and it seems pretty good, even when cold. I selected it out of all the alternatives because it has a reasonable viscosity but also a very high viscosity index which comes into play when you’re talking about shifts from cold farther from 40C. The specs overall are top notch.

I ran the Motul DCTF in my M2 Comp 6MT but didn’t like it when cold. It did shift better when warm though.

Another Ravenol MTF-2 user here...currently have it in my Touring's 420G as well as our E46 zhp with the ZF GS6-37. It helped my 3rd gear "grunch" in the 420G when cold and overall improved shifting, I also ran this in the ZF-320 when I M52 swapped the E30, it was flawless at all temps.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone has tried Motul 75W80. Appears to be both GL4 and GL5 compatible.

I just started using this, mainly because it's a 'grab and go' off-the-shelf product for me at most auto parts stores and it’s produced here in Australia. Since I have an SMG, it’s a bit hard to tell, but I do recall on the first drive it felt like butter on the upshifts.

I just ran Pentosin DCT-F and I noticed the same thing. It shifted meh when cold but was way better when hot. I had trouble finding 3rd in the damn hot pit and 4th on the warm up lap. At operating temp, it shifted nice with some resistance and stiffness to it but went right into gear.

                Perfect for my track car!

I ran GM friction modified MTF on my m3 before, with some liqui moly ms02 for gears. I never had an issue and it shifted easily with AAF shifter. Trans had 217k miles with no grinding or any issue but did have new shifter springs. I have a 420g in my touring now and decided to run Ravenol to try. Can confirm also works well.

I just bought some for my X7's transfer case and noticed that it's the same spec as our MTF2 (or maybe a little closer to LT3 - a tiny bit lighter). I was thinking I could use this in the getrag some day.

They make two different ones, don't use the GL-5 one. The Motul Gear Power 75W-80 is the one you want:
MOTUL GEAR POWER 75W-80 Recommended for manual transmissions requiring SAE 75W-80 viscosity grade transmission oil.Particularly recommended f

This one is the GL-5 which I think will cause issues with the synchros:

I'm going to test the Motul gear power in the race car with a ZF320. Previously used Ravenol MTF-2 in the 420G with no issues, but the rest of the car uses Motul fluids which I've been impressed with so far, I figured I'd try this one as well.

Not sure if this is true...internet lore says the friction modifier in a GL5 will dissolve brass. Not all GL5s contain FM though - just ones marketed for limited slip units. I remember UUC (don't ban me for mentioning them!) used to recommend a mix of D4ATF and Redline 75w-140 NO SLIP to reduce gear chatter with their lightweight flywheel...which I unfortunately bought for my 330Ci.
