MAF Part # Changed / How to Date Code MAFs/ Bosch Date Code Chart

I was going through and just replacing some sensors prevantively. One of them is the MAF.

The one I removed is a 0280218062 date code of 2016.

The one I just ordered, with a 2023 date code is a 0280218458

Both when googled return results for this application (E46 M3), so I'm assuming just some revision in probably manufacturing.

I don't think it matters but maybe this will be useful to someone sourcing one new or used.

There is also a way to date code a MAF. Generally it will have a nice little date code on the back of it for the 062 MAFs.

However, there is another way to date them. I didn't know Bosch had this special date code thing.

You can see the usual date code thing on the back.

However the "front" side has the date code we are curious about.

I have gone around on Ebay and verified this works across multiple ones.

This information shouldn't really be that useful for most people regarding the MAFs, since it has the date stamp on the back. However, found it neat so I'd share.
