    Street tire recommendations?

Does anyone have recommendations for street tires that have excellent street manners (good cold grip, good wet traction) and don't chunk when drifting?

I have been running Michelin PS4S which is a fantastic street tire. Excellent cold grip and rain performance, as well as excellent dry grip. But, it doesn't hold up well to heat. Specifically, it chunks when drifting which severely limits their lifespan. Yes, I drift on street tires. Why? Because I would prefer not to drift on 200 TW tires and I may move to two sets: 1) street/drift 2) 200TW lapping tire Kumho V730 esque.

Would not go to any of the really cheap drift-focused tires e.g. Armstrong etc.
Would prefer a 300-350TW esque tire, so far in that category I am hearing that the Yokohama V601 will chunk, same with Conti Procontact Sport.
Prefer not to go RT615K / Direzza ZIII / the other older 200TW options due to worse road manners.

Couple thoughts I had in mind:
    1) 1 set, Hankook RS4, jack of all trades master of none but might do everything OK (track, street, drift)
    2) 2 sets, Kumho V730 + ???Bridgestone Potenza Sport/Conti ESC02?
    3) 1 set, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 (Lol)

Would love to hear the experiences you guys have had for this use case - an excellent street tire that holds up to some drifting.

I'd personally just get a 2nd set of wheels and run like Accelera 651 Sports or something else cheap for drifting.

Yeah-- time for a second set. PS4S for the street, whatever's cheapest for drifting.

+1 for Accelera 651 tires. Costs like $400-450 shipped for a set and they’re decent on track. Terrible in the rain though.

Your ask is unreasonable and you won't find a tire that does both of those well, period. Since you're happy with PS4S (they truly are amazing street tires), just get a second set of wheels and tires for drifting.

What about the Indy 500s? 340TW and decent performance for street use. I have em on the front of my M3.

              Your answer is 2 sets.

Something nice for street use, then go buy some Ling Longs for drift use.

                Welp.
Was hoping there would be a magical solution, but guess not.
Given how well rounded this car is - it sees mostly street time, but some track time, and rare skidpad time.

@jay - indyhawk was on list too, would be curious to hear whether it chunks with heat or track use

I'll go back to the tried and true Hankook RS4, give up some rain performance knowing it'll hold up better to heat. Hard for me to justify a second or third set of wheels/tires for a skidpad rental 1-2x/yr.

For S&G - this is the chunking I'm referring to - after a Laguna day.

On track - The PS4 has long been notorious for chunking shoulders, especially when working even the edges of curbs. I always keep my students off the curbs when they are driving any Pilot Sport tires.

Keep hearing great things about the Conti ExtremeContact 02’s.
