    Rear Camber Arm Removal

Looking for some guidance to remove the driver side rear camber arm inner bolts (nearest the diff). I was able to remove the passenger side by completely removing the 3 diff bolts (1 front, 2 rear), but the driver side is posing a problem. Not matter how much I maneuver the diff, there doesn't seem to be enough clearance to remove the inner bolt. Has anyone tried lowering the exhaust to gain more clearance? I cannot think of anything else to try at this point.

I did purchase the revised bolts (33171090824) for when I install my adjustable camber arms, but they don't seem that much shorter than the originals...

Any guidance/tips/tricks would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have only done this with the differential completely removed. I don't know if there is any other way.

Just did this a few weeks ago. Took the three diff mounting bolts out but left the diff in place. A combination of pry bars allowed me to move the diff around to deal with the driver's side RCA bolt but it certainly wasn't easy. In hindsight, I probably would have spent less time just taking the diff out. I had just had the whole subframe out a couple months earlier so I was being stubborn.

People claim to have done it, but you're going to need to pull the entire diff rearward, so get it supported and use some more leverage to move it back further. I'd recommend setting a time limit before giving up and dropping the diff, mine was about 10 min

You can do it with just wiggling the diff around, but it sucks. Lots of prying and swearing.

It's so easy to drop the rear end in this car, worth reposting in case somehow hasn't seen my condensed instruction list:

            My original post here: https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...4563#post14563
            1. Disconnect parking brake (inside car)
            2. Remove rear wheels
            3. Remove rear shocks
            4. Remove v-brace
            5. Remove section 2 support brackets
            6. Remove section 2
            7. Remove driveshaft (diff, csb, and at guibo)
            8. Pull parking brake cables out from underneath car.
            9. Disconnect ABS and wear sensors (passenger side) on calipers
            10. Remove calipers (retainer clip, 7mm bolts).
            11. Disconnect lower control arm via eccentric bolt at wheel
            12. Feed caliper between control arm and trailer arm and support with something (this is to avoid disconnecting brake lines)
            13. Disconnect trailer arm from frame (RTAB housing)
            14. Remove charcoal filter plastic cover.
            15. Disconnect rear light leveling sensor that is connected to upper control arm on passenger side
            16. Remove subframe cross member bolts
            17. Remove subframe bushing bolts
            18. Drop rear end.
