Jack stands up maybe 5-6 notches? The jack would hit the diff fins. Even a couple of notches was an issue, but I found the side approach to work every single time.
I’ve done it on the side also, but when i figured I could get the jack from the rear I stopped. I am using a HF 3 ton jack. I have to do a clutch job within the next month or so I’ll see if I am doing something different.
