Price Increase for Throttle Body Actuator

Was not surprised to see a story on Instagram (probably on Rogue Engineering's page offering the TBA rebuild service) about the Throttle Body Actuator 13627840537 price going up to $2000.

    Well, it was absolutely true:

    https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/13627840537/ $1,860.88

The Pierburg ones are hard to find now too:

    Schmiedmann Link:

    https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/produ...3-62-7-840-537 $1502.30

Very happy I got a brand new BMW one I had saved on my watch list for $210 around two weeks ago.

In the meantime the E9X M TBA's are not bad now compared to the S54 ones:

Cool that is what the seller wrote to me in messenger so i thought it was a scam, let me know if it's legit

I guess repairmen will be popping out the woodwork now, as the gravy train just pulled out the station

Damn, these prices are getting to get out of hand.

I hoard parts and for some reason never got one of these, I understand they rarely fail, but if they do you are of course not in a good situation.

Hopefully the rebuild services for these can start popping up more like we see with e9x/e6x TBA's that fail at a much higher rate.

Do these go bad that often?

Only saw one instance I think on the forums but never ever seen one anywhere else. But they Do and Will fail eventually.

I may buy a used one while they are still cheap and keep it as a spare for a rebuild, ridiculous.

I was about to say, I have never heard of it, they are very solid and if you open them up they contain a simple toy motor and that’s really it, nothing compared to the E6x/E9x where there’s a computer inside more advanced than the one that took men to the moon.

I might have to check my S54 parts pile, possible I could have one. I do remember these not really selling as used parts. If I do have one, it will be like finding gold! Worst case, I can buy a used S54 to get a nice used throttle actuator.

LOL. at this point, I'm going to just haul a donor from the junkyard as a spare.
