    Lol...I've been there. I remember virginizing my ECU using the Martyn's ECU flasher tool. I was like...this should get me back to original specs. I guess it technically did. 🤣 Then I flashed/programmed the ECU back to life...it sucked...and worked fine for 7 years until I had Epic try and remote tune my car. I was strapped down on the dyno and couldn't load the tune. I sent my ECU to Randy to get fixed. He was like "I've never seen an MSS54 ecu programmed like this?". I was like...you don't say...not sure how that happned...lol

      You don't HAVE to but I would recommend it, even for a full on track car. There needs to be some sort of shock protection between the engine and the rest of the drivetrain.

      However, if you don't want to run a sprung clutch, you can run any stock E36 M3 clutch disc. (FWIW, when I bought my current E36 M3, it came with a lightweight flywheel setup like we are talking about AND an unsprung clutch, never noticed any issues with it over 3 years of street/track usage)

        The crank rpm is not rotating smoothly due to the nature of the ignited combustion, and so running with solid flywheel and un-sprung clutch will cause gears chattering, unnecessary stress on the hear box, especially with lightweight flywheel.
