Diagnosing a front-end clunk upon acceleration

driving normally and I saw the steering wheel back and forth hard, it will do a clunk-clunk. But it's not from the same location each time (e.g., steering column). I can reproduce this at will.

I also get lash (?) when I clutch in at times, but the sound is completely different.

I think you have a champagne bottle in the drug bin.

I'm not sure what's clutch in means. clutch in == disengaged clutch or clutch in == pushing the pedal down? or clutch engaging? Try to use the standard terminology as in the Owner operating manual.

On the backlash, use something to lock or wedge the guibo to the tranny to hold it still, then rock the driveshaft starting from CSB section and work down to the diff input to locate if there is any backlash in between. Should have zero.
