MSS54 and MSS54HP EWS Syncing or Delete

This is my first post, but if anyone can help me that be great! I plan on putting in a CSL intake along with a MAP sensor. For the MAP sensor I sent out a spare ECU to Kassel Performance to convert to MSS54HP and then into a CSL ECU. I have my OEM ECU that I plan on swapping every 2 years in order to pass SMOG in California. I know that every time I switch the ECU's I will need to resync for initial startup or I could go the EWS delete route.

My main question is what software and hardware do I need to perform an EWS sync or delete? Sorry if this is common knowledge, but I'm pretty new and wanna learn.

EWS sync should be done via INPA.

You can EWS delete your binary quite easily, set 0x8A to 1.

Another option for EWS delete is the Ecuworx binary modification tool.
      Old, not obsolete.

So I look at the great software suggestions you guys posted and realized I’d need a way to run it. Would a K+CAN cable line this and a laptop be enough?

Cable might be okay....not a huge risk for $28

There is plenty of talk about cable quality being important. I believe the Bimmergeeks K+DCAN cable is the gold standard, but their site shows all cables out of stock at this time.
