I decided to run the VANOS test via Tool32, and these were the results. The response times seem good...perhaps even good enough that it makes me wonder if I should touch my VANOS at all (other than inspecting tabs).

That said, I'm not sure how to interpret "STEUERN_EVANOS1_FRUEHANSCHLAG". Everyone else seems to have 0 for ISTWERT while mine is 8. Anything else notable in here?

    Thank you all, again.

Found a good reference on these numbers, and it looks like my intake side is off by 8 degrees? That seems...less than ideal.

Don’t mess with it. All good. If the car passes the test it can achieve proper cam position.

you can check VANOS adaptations and see how much the cams need to be offset, there is up to 10deg of tolerance. If you want to fix it you need to retime which seems to be what you want to avoid.

if the car drives normal you won’t gain anything other than OCD satisfaction.

your adjustment times are really good. You did not run leak test, but give your adjustment times they will be fine.

vanos test results have nothing to do with adding Loctite to cam sleeves bolts and pump disk new smaller holes drilling. These mods are for higher reliability.
